Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS)
Employers in a regional area*, who are unable to find suitably qualified workers within the local labour pool, are able to nominate an overseas employee to fill the position.
*the following areas of Australia are not considered regional

As an employer you must:
- Be operating a business in Regional Australia and have a need for the nominee in the regional area
- Be actively and lawfully operating a business in Australia
- Have a satisfactory record of compliance with Australian industrial relations and immigration laws
As a nominee (visa applicant) you must:
- Have at least a diploma or higher qualification
- Be under 45 years of age
- Meet mandatory licensing, registration or any professional membership requirements
