FAQs

What is the role of a Registered Migration Agent (RMA)?

An RMA will assess your eligibility for a visa based on the information you provide. The advice rendered will be honest and all discussions will be in confidence. An RMA is required to act lawfully, in the client’s best interests.

It is against the law to offer immigration assistance in Australia unless the person is an RMA.

What is the benefit of using an RMA?

An RMA is a qualified professional who is equipped with the knowledge of migration law. All Agents in Australia must be registered and as part of the registration process, they must undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD). This means that their level of knowledge of migration law is kept up-to-date.

An RMA must abide by a Code of Conduct and as a consumer you are entitled to a copy of the Code.

Can an RMA guarantee success of my visa application?

No, the Code of Conduct prohibits an RMA from making a guarantee of success.

Why should I pay for immigration assistance?

The decision to emigrate is a life changing one and it is in your best interest to deal with a competent RMA who can give you solid advice and present your application to improve your chances of success. Migration Law is very complex and changes often and using a registered and competent RMA can ensure that you do not overlook key aspects of your visa application.
